10 Rules For The Indie Author

Despite being out of commission for quite some time, I have often been asked how I have come out with so many books (each with moderate sales numbers) at such a young age. As a means to share my secrets with you, I have come up with a list of 10 rules for the indie author.  It doesn’t matter what you write, who you are, how old you are….these 10 rules will work for you.

  1. Write.
  2. Write some more.
  3. When you think you are done writing, think again…keep writing!

  4. Edit.

  5. Edit the entire draft again…

  6. and then again…

  7. and when you are done editing, write some more.

  8. Push yourself to write another 100 words, even if you don’t think you can

  9. and when you accomplish that, try for another 100.

  10. Then edit it all again.

I know, I know…not exactly the words of wisdom you were expecting, right? And maybe it’s not as simple as this, but if you can write, and you can edit, you can push yourself to do exactly what it is you want to do. Plain and simple. And maybe I was just killing sometime….but you should take these words to heart anyways 😉
